Abstract
Se describe un metodo para reducir la mutagenicidad de compuestos aromáticos policiclicos (PACs) que tienen una o mas regiones de Bay, que implica alquilizar los PACs con un agente alquilizante en presencia de un catalizador para reducir la mutagenicidad hasta tanto como aproximadamente 0.1; los compuestos aromaticos policiclicos alquilizados resultantes conserven sus propiedades fisicas y quimicas para uso industrial seguro, que incluye como aceites para el procesamiento de caucho, tintas, etc.
