Abstract

La invencion proporciona metodos y composiciones para el fitomejoramiento de lineas de pimiento (Capsicum sp. tal como Capsicum annuum), que incluyen lineas isogenicas y casi isogenicas, que muestran uno o mas colores de fruta madura de interes; tambien se proporcionan marcadores geneticos predictivos y secuencias y cebadores asociados, asociados con diversidad fenotipica en el locus Ccs que codifica Capsantina-Capsorrubina Sintasa, y el locus Ze que codifica zeaxantina epoxidasa, asi como metodos para el fitomejoramiento de lineas de pimiento; ademas se proporcionan plantas y partes de plantas de pimiento que incluyen semillas, mezclas de semillas, frutas, y frutas empaquetadas, que muestran colores de frutas maduras de interes.
