Abstract

Se proporciona un dispositivo de codificación de imágenes adaptado para segmentar una imagen en bloques y codificar la imagen en unidades de bloques resultantes de la segmentación de la imagen. Una unidad (101) de segmentación de bloques segmenta recursivamente la imagen en rectángulos de un tamaño predeterminado para generar un bloque sujeto a codificación. Una unidad (105) de generación de flujo de bits codifica información de segmentación de bloques del bloque sujeto a codificación. La unidad (101) de segmentación de bloques incluye: una unidad de división en cuartos que corta en cuatro un bloque objetivo en una segmentación recursiva, en una dirección horizontal y una dirección vertical para generar cuatro bloques; y una unidad de división a la mitad que divide a la mitad un bloque objetivo en segmentación recursiva, en una dirección horizontal o dirección vertical para generar dos bloques. Cuando la segmentación recursiva anterior se divide a la mitad, la unidad de división a la mitad prohíbe que un bloque objetivo sujeto a la segmentación recursiva actual sea segmentado en la misma dirección que la dirección en que se segmentó el bloque en la segmentación recursiva previa.
