Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrolytic degreasing method and an electrolytic degreasing device using the same that can more reliably remove contaminating substances such as oils from the surface of an article to be cleaned and do not allow re-adherence of the removed contaminating substances to the article to be cleaned. To achieve this purpose, provided is an electrolytic degreasing method that removes contaminants such as oils adhering to the surface of an article to be cleaned using alkaline electrolyzed water. The electrolytic degreasing method is characterized: by disposing the article to be cleaned and an anode electrode in the alkaline electrolyzed water and electrifying the same to form hydrogen bubbles with a diameter of 20 nm - 10 µm on the surface of the article to be cleaned using the article to be cleaned as a cathode electrode, and bursting the hydrogen bubbles in the vicinity of the surface of the article to be cleaned and removing the contaminants adhering to the surface of the article to be cleaned by the shock waves accompanying this bursting; and in that this anode electrode has an electrocatalyst layer containing iridium oxide in an amount of 10 - 20 g/m2 on the surface thereof. Also provided is an electrolytic degreasing device that implements this method.
