Abstract
La presente descripción se refiere a mecanismos de frenado mecánico usados en aplicaciones de motores eléctricos. Los mecanismos de frenado presentes se pueden configurar como frenos mecánicos sin retroceso y proveen frenado inmediato de los motores. De acuerdo con una modalidad, un ensamble de freno mecánico para un motor eléctrico puede incluir un disco hembra que tiene una ranura curva y un tope. El ensamble de freno mecánico incluye además un disco macho que tiene una proyección, el disco macho estando conectado a un rotor del motor eléctrico. Cuando se activa el motor eléctrico, la proyección del disco macho se deja rotar ininterrumpidamente con la rotación del rotor. Sin embargo, cuando se desactiva el motor eléctrico, la proyección del disco macho viaja dentro de la ranura curva del disco hembra y colinda con el tope del disco hembra, deteniendo así la rotación del rotor del motor eléctrico.
