Abstract

The present disclosure is related to the application of an advanced oxidation system and method for the treatment of municipal and/or industrial wastewater, which, in addition to being innovative, presents a greater removal of organic pollutants by degrading and/or demineralizing them. In addition, an advantage is that it can be used directly with high loads of chemical oxygen demand, that is, wastewater containing biodegradable and non-biodegradable matter. The treatment time is shorter and shows a decrease in the production of residual sludge, compared to other conventional treatments. In this way, the electro-dissolution-electrooxidation-ozonization treatment is an alternative, as advanced oxidation processes improving water quality and contributing to a better quality of life on our planet.
