Abstract

A ridge, sometimes also known as a ridge piece, is a roof finishing that usually overlaps the final hip tile. The hip is the junction of a pitched or flat roof that corresponds to the external angle and divides rain water, directing same towards different roof planes. The ridge is used to join two upper roof planes. That is to say that it is located at the peak, for example, in houses with tiled gable roofs, thereby covering the peaks of the roof. The present invention relates to a ridge piece structure for a ridge of a gable roof, which does not require securing means, such as nails, screws, adhesives, foam tapes, etc., to be installed on the roof, and which has a strong, aerodynamic design, is lightweight and maintenance free, prevents water leakages, has an aesthetic appearance and allows automatic adjustment according to the angle of the roof on which same is to be placed. In addition, the invention allows the ridge piece for a roof ridge to receive a perforation for ventilation a nd to comprise an element for connecting attached ridge pieces to a finishing element for the lateral end. The invention can also act as a supporting element for lighting devices and electrical wiring.
