Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for obtaining a bioplastic using a biopolymer extracted from the alga Sargassum spp called alginate-containing molecules of ?-D-mannuronic acid and a-L-guluronic acid. It aims to obtain a Sargasso flour, the profitable process for the extraction of the alginate, and the elaboration of the bioplastic as the final product, which is a viable alternative to reduce the excessive amount of plastics in the environment.
