Abstract
Dispositivo oftalmológico que incluye una punta de tonómetro de aplanación que tiene una superficie bi-curvada en contacto con la córnea estructurada para minimizar la tensión intracorneal, y un método para usar dicho dispositivo para medir la presión intraocular. La superficie en contacto con la córnea incluye una primera porción central y una segunda porción que rodea y se une a la primera porción central. Las curvaturas de primera y segunda porciones tienen signos opuestos. En un caso, la primera porción central puede ser rotacionalmente simétrica. En un caso relacionado, la primera porción tiene una curvatura con un signo opuesto al de una curvatura de una córnea típica, mientras que la curvatura de la segunda porción tiene un signo igual al de la curvatura de la córnea.
