Abstract

The present disclosure is related to a mechanical power transmission system for the recovery of kinetic energy, which allows transmitting or receiving kinetic energy from a cardan arrow of a heavy duty vehicle by means of gears within the same mechanical transmission for the recovery of kinetic energy. Said invention recovers the kinetic energy of the transmission housing by pressurizing hydraulic fluid by means of four hydraulic motors located in the transmission housing. The present invention has generally three operation modes, which are controlled by the control unit, and these are: 1) braking process, 2) acceleration process, and 3) inactive mode. This system can be applied within a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles. In other words, the present innovation solves three imperative technical problems: 1) the recovery of kinetic energy (energy saving), 2) improves system functionality by implementing four independent driving clutches focused on heavy duty cargo vehicles, and 3) reduc es the space occupied by its components.
