Abstract
Se describe un sistema modular de tratamiento de líquidos residuales. De conformidad con algunas modalidades, el sistema incluye una unidad de distribución central y una o más aletas de tratamiento en comunicación de flujo con la misma. La unidad de distribución puede estar configurada para recibir los líquidos residuales desde una fuente determinada y distribuye esos residuos, por lo menos en parte, con una o más aletas de tratamiento. A su vez, las bacterias presentes en una aleta de tratamiento determinado tratan los líquidos residuales y el líquido tratado resultante puede drenar desde la aleta hasta el ambiente circundante. En algunas modalidades, una aleta de tratamiento determinada puede incluir un medio poroso que proporciona una gran área superficial en donde pueden crecer las bacterias para facilitar el tratamiento. El sistema se puede instalar en y/o sobre el suelo y en algunos casos, puede estar rodeado, por lo menos en parte, con arena de tratamiento y/o con otro medio de tratamiento. El sistema se puede utilizar en el procesamiento aeróbico y/o anaeróbico de los líquidos residuales.
