Abstract
The present invention relates to a seawater-based polymeric fluid with potassium chloride for drilling land wells and offshore wells, which is designed to drill low and medium clay formations and is not limited for this type of wells if the operation justifies it. The drilling of the clay zones with said fluid fulfills the rheological technical requirements for achieving the carryout and suspension of the cuttings, the filtering control, lubricity and clay inhibition. The said fluid composes by seawater, liquid polymeric products of new generation technology with high performance, easy preparation and rapid homogenization. Therefore it is possible to minimize the logistics of ships, ensuring the continuous supply of fluid volume during drilling, thus avoiding non-productive times and assuring the lowering of the casing pipes in the estimated time, without operational, logistical delays. Further, this fluid is designed for clay zones of up 15 meq/100mg to 50 meq/100mg of clay, with the proposed base concentration and allows controlling more clays of high reactivity.
