Abstract
The present disclosure is related to a process for producing porcelain compositions with waste ceramic additions. The process for obtaining porcelain waste powder or fireclay, basically consists of fragmenting, crushing and pulverizing porcelain insulator waste with optional magnetic cleanings. Porcelain pastes are obtained by mixing the waste or fireclay powders, replacing one or more of the raw materials (quartz or quartz and feldspar) that go through several filter-press processes, a conventional conforming (extrusion) process, a drying process, an enameling process and a sintering process. The results indicate that the incorporation of the material obtained from waste insulators as raw material in an electric porcelain composition, does not modify the process parameters, neither affects its physical properties, in addition, favors the mechanical behavior of its flexural strength.
