Abstract

Un aparato respiratorio de aire comprimido (CABA - Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus) o un aparato respiratorio autónomo (SCBA - Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) es utilizado regularmente en ambientes en los que no existe aire respirable y en situaciones de emergencia. Sin embargo, los tanques de CABA/SCBA tienen capacidad limitada para contener aire comprimido, y se requieren estaciones de llenado de BA en ambientes en los cuales puede ser necesario rellenar los tanques de CABA/SCBA durante una situación de emergencia. La presente invención describe un sistema de estación de llenado de BA con un suministro de aire de respaldo y activación remota. Dos o más estaciones de llenado se interconectan por una o más líneas de suministro de aire para proporcionar un flujo de aire comprimido entre las estaciones de llenado, y una o más líneas de activación remota para controlar el flujo. Ventajosamente, el sistema proporciona redundancia entre las estaciones de llenado de BA ubicadas remotamente y mejora significativamente la seguridad al poner en disponibilidad una fuente de respaldo de un suministro de aire proveniente de otra estación de llenado interconectada.
