Abstract

The present invention is related to the field of devices for collecting solar energy, since is composed by a two-axis solar tracker driven by chain mechanisms with guided geometry. Said solar tracker comprises a structure that moves over two axes of rotation and photovoltaic solar panels or reflective surfaces (mirrors), thus affording the installation for its use as a heliostat. Said structure possesses a cylindrical type joint, which attaches to the upper section of the main post. Said section rotates in a vertical axis concentric to the main post, which fixes on the ground. The structure is connected at two points (one on each side of the shaft), with a chain to effect movement on the lift shaft. The lifting motion mechanism drives the chain and mounts on top of the main post, which rotates along the axis thereof. The tracker composes of low-cost and straightforward devices, thus contributing to reduce manufacturing costs without sacrificing accuracy, performance, and durability.
