Abstract

El cojinete incluye un rotor del eje 23 entre dos estatores móviles axiales 39 y se basan en una película de gas seco para separar el rotor 23 y los estatores 39. Los estatores 39 son axialmente cargados mediante un paquete de resortes dobles 64 dispuestos en serie en donde un resorte cargado ligeramente se acopla al estator 39 durante las aplicaciones de empuje cero, y a medida que el eje 14 comienza a rotar y a encontrarse con el empuje axial, un resorte más fuerte y más grueso, mayor que la carga de empuje, se acopla rápidamente.
