Abstract
Se proporcionan los sistemas y métodos para estimar el alejamiento y/o calibre en un agujero para perforación con lodo a base de petróleo. Los sistemas incluyen un sensor que tiene un electrodo primario y al menos dos electrodos secundarios, y un subsistema electrónico que tiene una unidad de control y un procesador para impulsar el sistema y correlacionar las mediciones de corriente con el alejamiento y/o el calibre. Los electrodos se colocan uno respecto al otro de manera que exista un flujo distinto de corriente entre el electrodo primario y cada electrodo secundario. Durante el funcionamiento se aplica una sola frecuencia de excitación al electrodo primario y se obtiene una medición simultánea de la corriente que fluye entre el electrodo primerio y cada electrodo secundario a partir de las mediciones se estima el alejamiento. Las estimaciones pueden ser independientes de las propiedades de la formación cuando se utiliza una frecuencia de excitación apropiada.
