Abstract

De acuerdo con un aspecto de la presente invención, se proporcionan métodos para condensar dióxido de carbono (CO2) a partir de una corriente de CO2. El método incluye (i) comprimir y enfriar la corriente de CO2 para formar una corriente de CO2 parcialmente enfriada, en donde la corriente de CO2 parcialmente enfriada es enfriada a una primera temperatura. El método incluye (ii) enfriar la corriente de CO2 parcialmente enfriada a una segunda temperatura mediante enfriamiento magneto-calórico para formar una corriente de CO2 enfriada. El método incluye además (iii) condensar al menos una porción de CO2 en la corriente de CO2 enfriada para formar una corriente de CO2 condensada. Los sistemas para condensar dióxido de carbono (CO2) a partir de una corriente de CO2 también son provistos.
