Abstract

Métodos y aparatos para la supresión de incendios en un centro de datos de pasillo caliente/pasillo frío de acuerdo con los diversos aspectos de la presente invención incluyen un sistema de detección que se configura para ubicarse próximo a un lado de un gabinete de computadora que se orienta hacia un pasillo caliente, y un sistema de descarga que se configura para ubicarse dentro del subsuelo que tiene un flujo de aire de enfriamiento que se dirige hacia arriba desde el subsuelo a través de una o más aberturas de ventilación en el subsuelo y hacia un pasillo frío. El sistema de detección puede configurase para detectar una condición de incendio tal como el humo que sale del gabinete, y en respuesta generar una señal que active el sistema de descarga. El sistema de descarga puede configurarse para inyectar un supresor de incendios hacia el flujo de aire de enfriamiento, mediante lo cual el flujo de aire de enfriamiento puede facilitar el suministro del supresor de incendios hacia el pasillo frío y al gabinete de computadora.
