Abstract

La presente invención proporciona un sistema de monitoreo sísmico de fibra óptica que incluye una fuente de luz que activa una fibra óptica colocada dentro de un pozo de sondeo. Al menos un sensor de luz que analiza luz de retrodispersión de Rayleigh para obtener una señal acústica para cada uno de los múltiples puntos a lo largo del pozo de sondeo. Uno o más procesadores operan para determinar la dirección, distancia, y/o intensidad del evento microsísmico basado al menos en parte en la información de fase de las señales acústicas.
