Abstract

A sensor for detecting the presence of decomposition byproducts from gas SF6, the sensor being formed by a printed circuit with a structure of interdigitated electrodes, which is coated by a coating resulting from a mixture of 25% to 75% by weight of polymeric resin and 25% to 75% by weight of carbon nanotubes, in such a manner that the sensor detects the presence of decomposition byproducts from gas SF6 in real time and in a continuous manner, also having a sensitivity of from about 0.0025% to about 0.05%. The senor may be applied in electric devices with a gas SF6 insulator for monitoring the presence of decomposition byproducts from gas SF6 in the inner portion thereof.
