Abstract

The invention refers to a novel system for constructing rigid vaults, which is characterized in that it includes the following parts: a plurality of hollow blocks, each being formed by a semi-rectangular prismatic body with flat front and rear surfaces, this allowing the hollow blocks to be located one after the other so as to form the surface of the roof or vault. The lower surface is flat since it is the surface of the roof. The upper surface is trapezoidal and receives the compression layer. The right and left lateral surfaces have a recess useful for coupling the end portions of each hollow block over a trapezoidal base, said recess varying its angle from 20° to 70° as well as the area of the two surfaces located in the end portions of the hollow blocks, this area having three perforations located at the central portion, at the right side portion and at the left side portion of each hollow block, which provide a lighter characteristic thereto; also includes reinforced beams which end portions are coupled to the support elements (walls), the beams being equidistantly arranged parallel one to each other, these being formed by a rod that has a couple of zig-zag-bent rods welded underneath the rod, which two end portions are welded to the rod and the remaining end portions submerged into a trapezoidal base, the lateral surfaces of the base receiving the coupling of the recess of each hollow block and the compression layer, this latter element being applied to the upper surface of the vaults.
