VERTICAL GARDEN PANEL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A. FIELD OF THE INVENTION.
The present invention relates to structures for vertical gardens and more particularly to a vertical garden panel that is formed by a base fabric subject to fixing means and a plurality of individual fabrics fastened by means of staples or seams to the base fabric of so that each fabric forms an individual bag that serves as a means to contain soil and plants. Additionally, the vertical garden panel of the present invention includes means for irrigating each bag.
B. DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART.
There are several devices in the prior art for the vertical cultivation of plants. Basically there are two types of vertical gardens: the "green facades" and the "living walls". The green facades are formed by climbing plants that grow directly on the wall or in specific support structures, and their roots grow towards the ground. Living walls are comprised of modular panels that are commonly made of stainless steel containers or geotextiles, irrigation systems, growth media for plants and vegetation.
One of the most common living wall structures comprises a flexible material attached to a support material by which "bags" are formed to contain the plants and their sustenance. Examples of said living walls are described in documents 20110059518 and 20110219688.
In many such living wall designs, the bags are formed by rows, and each row is formed by a single strip of fabric divided by means of means separators to form bags. However, said design does not provide freedom to form bags in other positions. Additionally, it would be desirable that said designs have means to irrigate each bag.
In view of the aforementioned problems and needs, the applicant developed a living wall vertical garden panel comprising a base fabric attached to fixing means and a plurality of individual fabrics held by means of staples or seams at any place on the fabric base so that each fabric forms an individual bag that serves as a means to contain soil and plants. Additionally, the vertical garden structure of the present invention includes means for irrigating each bag.
Thanks to the vertical garden panel of the present invention includes means to irrigate each individual bag, it facilitates the maintenance of the plants contained in each, thus allowing the installation of large living wall surfaces, even in places that are not very accessible .
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is therefore a principal object of the present invention to provide a living wall vertical garden panel comprising: a base fabric attached to fixing means; a plurality of individual fabrics fastened by means of staples or seams anywhere on the base fabric such that each fabric forms an individual bag that serves as a means to contain soil and plants; and means to irrigate each bag.
It is still a principal object of the present invention to provide a vertical wall panel type living wall of the nature described above, which allows easy irrigation of each bag, thus allowing the installation of large living wall surfaces, including in inaccessible places.
These and other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art from the following detailed description of the invention.
