Abstract

A description is given of a package (1, 1') in flexible material for liquid, pasty products or the like, closed above by a linear head weld (7) which joins two opposed walls (4, 5), at which a pair of opposed welds (10, 11) is provided, in proximity of at least one upper corner (8) of the package, these opposed welds (10, 11) tending to meet at the centre line of the package and determining a flattening of the corresponding upper corner (8).

Description

FLEXIBLE CONTAINERS FOR LIQUID PRODUCTS Field of the Invention The object of the invention is a flexible package particularly for liquid, pasty and similar products, in particular food products such as beverages, fruit juices, yoghurts, etc.
The package according to the invention can be, for example, a container of the vertical type, that is, self-supported when filled with the product, which has a reinforced support base from which two side walls are lifted, welded by heat along the top and side edges, or it can be a parallelepiped "form and fill" container with bottom and top closures of the bellows type.
Background of the Invention The containers for commercially available liquids, of one or the other types mentioned above, have a superior welding at a certain distance from the level of the liquid, which left a main space, which makes the container soft, avoiding its storage and / or stacking one on the other.
These containers are normally opened by cutting an upper corner in such a weld or by tearing the container in a preformed cut mark.
This generally results in an uncontrolled release of the liquid in the opening of the container and does not guarantee the retention of the liquid in the container after partial use.
Description of the invention The object of the invention is to eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages by providing a package particularly for liquid products or containing at least in part a liquid, pasty product or the like, which allows controlled release of the product and safe retention of the product. in the container when the latter is not used after opening.
Another object of the invention is to provide a container that is self-supporting, so that various containers can be stacked one on top of the other during storage and / or transport.
These objectives are achieved by the package according to the invention, which has the features of the appended independent claim 1.
The advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
Substantially, the container according to the invention, of the vertical or parallelepiped type, having a linear main weld parallel to the level of the liquid, also has, in at least one of the two upper corners of the container, in the vicinity of the end of the weld main linear, two lateral welds that join in the central line of the container, determining a configuration in V, the vertex of the same is placed at the end of the main linear welding.
The aforementioned linear main solder is formed in close proximity to the liquid level, such as to minimize the main space of the container and make it self-supporting, so that various containers can be stacked one on top of the other.
The additional features of the invention will be made clearer by the following detailed description, referring to its modalities purely by way of a non-limiting example, illustrated in the attached figures, in which: Figures 1 and 2 are two perspective views of opposite angles of a container according to the invention of the vertical type; Figure 3 is a front plane view of the package of Figures 1 and 2; Figure 4 shows the container of the previous figures in conditions of use, after opening; Figure 5 is a perspective view of a package according to the invention with the parallelepiped shape of the "form and fill" type; Figure 6 is a front elevational view of the container of the Figure 5; Figure 7 is a side elevational view; Figure 8 is a bottom view; Figure 9 is a perspective view of a package according to the invention such as that of Figure 5, with a different sealing weld.
In the appended figures the same reference numbers are used to denote equal or corresponding parts.
Referring first of all to Figures 1 to 4, there is illustrated a container or container 1 of the so-called vertical type, that is, self-supporting, having a support base 2 with a perimeter weld 3 that develops along of the lower edge of the container and rises along the two opposite lateral zones 3 '.
The two opposite walls 4, 5 are raised from the base 2, joined to one another by welds 6 which develop along two opposite side edges of the container which is then closed above by means of a linear or transverse main weld 7 that extend between the aforementioned lateral welds 6.
The main linear weld 7 is formed in close proximity to the level of the product contained in the container 1, as well as to reduce the main residual space of the container, thus making the container more rigid and capable of supporting the weight of other containers stacked in this respect.
The component material of the package 1 is normally a flexible multi-layer sheet material, with the inner layer being heat-weldable.
According to an essential characteristic of the invention, in the opposite walls 4, 5, in the vicinity of the two opposite upper corners 8 of the container, determined by the intersection of the aforementioned side 6 and main 7 solders, the pairs of side welds 10, 1 1 are formed between overlapping areas of each of the aforementioned side walls 4, 5. These pairs of side welds 1 0, 1 1 are tilted up and out of the container and tend to join at the center line of the container by itself, forming a V with the vertex in the vicinity of a corresponding upper corner 8 of the container.
In the embodiment shown in the figures, the pairs of the lateral welds 1 0, 1 1 are provided in both of the upper corners 8 of the container 1, although it is clear that it could be provided in only one of these corners.
Figure 4 shows schematically the open container 1 during the dosing of its contents. In practice, a cut is made in an upper corner 8 of the container, possibly with the participation also of the ends of the pairs of the opposite solders 10, 1 1, as well as to determine an opening 12 through which the liquid 1 3 is dispensed.
The arrangement of the pair of lateral welds 10, 1 1 determines a flattening of the container in the vicinity of the corresponding upper corner 8, such that when this corner is cut to determine the opening 1 2, there is no liquid release from the container, a release that only takes place in a controlled manner, by pressing the opposite walls 4, 5 of the container, as shown schematically in Figure 4.
When the pressure is released, the liquid is sucked back inside the container, avoiding drips. Even when the opening container is stored, accidental spillage of the liquid is avoided if it is not compressed.
Figures 5 to 8 show a package, denoted by the reference number G, which has exactly the same innovative characteristics of the vertical package of Figures 1 to 4.
In this case the container is of a substantially parallelepiped shape, of the so-called "form and fill" type, obtained in a manner known per se from a strip of material in a multilayer sheet, with an internal layer that can be welded by heat, which is made to advance along a normally vertically placed example, around which this is closed by means of a longitudinal weld 6 ', which is placed vertically on a wall of the formed container, as well as to form a a tubular part which closes underneath by means of a first transverse weld and, after it has to be filled with the product, is cut and closed at the top by means of an additional transverse weld constituting the aforementioned main weld 7. In the lower transverse weld 3 is then formed into a foldable reinforcement 20, known per se.
The main linear weld 7, as in the case of the container of Figures 1 to 4, is formed in the vicinity of the liquid level, as well as to reduce the main space, and the pairs of the opposite side welds 10, 1 1 determine , as in the previous case, the V configurations with the vertices in the vicinity of the upper corners 8 of the container.
The operation of the container 1 'in terms of dosing and retention of the liquid corresponds exactly to what is described with reference to the container 1 of Figures 1 to 4.
The embodiment of Figure 9 differs from that of Figures 5 -8 due to the fact that the longitudinal seal weld 6 'is placed on a vertical edge 20 of the container 1", which has" fin "and weld curves 2 1 on the other vertical edges.
Naturally the invention is not limited to the particular embodiments described previously and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, instead of numerous changes of detail they can be further made, within the scope of the person skilled in the art, without departing from the object of the invention. the invention by itself, as defined in the appended claims.
