Abstract
Se presenta un método para calcular índices de inserción para una pata de fase de un convertidor multinivel modular de DC a AC. Cada pata de fase comprende dos brazos conectados en serie, en donde cada abrazo comprende un número de sub módulos, en donde cada sub módulo puede estar en un estado de puenteo o un modo de inserción de voltaje. Este índice de inserción comprende datos que representan la porción de sub módulos disponibles que deben estar en el modo de inserción de voltaje. El método comprende los pasos de: calcular un voltaje de brazo deseado para un brazo superior conectado a la barra común de fuente de DC superior y un brazo inferior conectado a la barra común de fuente de DC inferior, obtener valores que representan los voltajes de brazo totales reales en el brazo superior y brazo inferior, respectivamente, y calcular los índices de modulación para el brazo superior e inferior, respectivamente, utilizando el voltaje de brazo deseado respectivo y el valor respectivo que representa el voltaje de brazo real total. También se presenta un aparato correspondiente.
