Abstract
Se proporciona un dispositivo para determinar la composición de una mezcla de fluidos por absorción espectral, que comprende: una fuente de radiación; un detector para detectar radiación que ha sido atenuada por la mezcla y un dispositivo para separar la radiación en una banda de longitud de onda que corresponde a una banda de absorción de uno de los fluidos, una banda de longitud de onda que corresponde a una banda de absorción de otro de los fluidos y por lo menos una banda de longitud de onda de referencia sustancialmente adyacente a cada una de las bandas de absorción y especialmente adyacente a cada lado de la banda de absorción o grupo de banda de absorción. El dispositivo puede ser utilizado para determinar la composición de mezclas de petróleo, agua e hidrocarburos gaseosos en pozos de petróleo en donde existe un grado muy grande de dispersión de variación en tiempo, por ejemplo dispersión Rayleigh y Mie debido a turbulencia. Además, se proporciona un dispositivo para transmitir la relación de valores de un par de señales, por ejemplo la salida desde tal dispositivo, que comprende un detector (72, 76) para muestreo de cada señal; un amplificador (82) de ganancia variable para amplificar cada una de las señales detectadas con la misma ganancia y transmitir cada una de las señales amplificadas. El amplificador de ganancia variable incluye un circuito (90, 94) de retroalimentación para recibir una de las señales amplificadas transmitidas por el amplificador y ajustar la ganancia del amplificador para que sea inversamente proporcional al mismo, de manera que el otro del par de señales sea transmitida por el amplificador con referencia a una de las señales.
