According to one embodiment, the present invention
provides a protective cover article including a garment for covering at least one upper part of a wearer's body, the garment comprising a folded collar type shirt; and a mask element in the form of a loop in front, concave or closed, and extending from an anchoring region on one side or the back of the bent collar type to another anchoring region or back of the bent collar type collar on the other side, where the mask element when connected to the folded collar type can adopt a folded position in which at least a portion of the mask is placed on a lower surface of the collar-folded collar to be substantially concealed from the collar. the view below the fold up of the collar, and a deployed position in which the mask extends forward to cover the user's nose and mouth. In this mode, the mask element acts as a filter and can be detachable. The mask element can also be attached to the inside fold of the collar or fasteners of the hook and buckle type.
The mask element can be washable on a machine, and can be specified to an Australian P2 or P2 powder standard or any other powder standard for analogous protection in another jurisdiction around the world.
According to another modality of this
invention provides a method for inhibiting the portable ingestion of dust and airborne contamination, the method includes the steps of: providing a mask element in the stored position under an upward fold of a shirt collar of a shirt used by a user, the mask element extending in a closed or incoming loop from an anchoring region on one side of the collar or a rear portion thereof to another anchoring region on another side or the rear thereof, the element being of mask substantially hidden from view in the stored position; unfolding the mask element by unfolding the fold upwards and extending the mask element over the user's head, so that the mask element extends from the anchor regions to cover the user's mouth and nose.
According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the mask element adapted to be permanently removably attached to the lower fold of a collar of a sleeve is provided, the mask element when connected to the collar is in the form of an incoming, concave or closed loop, extending from an anchoring region on one side of the collar or its back to another anchoring region on another side of the collar or its back, the mask element being configured to take a Saved or stored position
in which at least a portion of the mask is placed on an inner surface of the collar to be substantially concealed from view under the upward bend of the collar, and an unfolded position in which the mask extends forward to cover the nose and the user's mouth.
Referring now to Figures 1 and 2, there is shown an additional embodiment of the present invention wherein a protective cover article, which is generally indicated at 10 and includes a jacket 12, and comprising a folded collar with an upward bend 14 having a base fold 15 and a bottom surface of the fold up 16. The bottom surface of the upward bend 16 is a portion of the collar that is adjacent to the outer perimeter 17, while the base fold 15 is a portion of the collar adjacent the inner periphery 18 adjacent the user's neck.
The article of the cover 10 further includes a mask element 20 which includes a filter region 26, and is attached to the folded collar in an anchoring region 22. The mask element 20 further includes a left lateral extension region 23. and regions or portions of right lateral extension 24 which connect the filter 26 to the anchoring region 22. The mask element 20 is in the form of a closed or incoming loop 27 which, in this
The method extends from the anchoring region 22 on the back of the collar through the left side, the filter, and the right side and back towards the anchoring region 22.
Although not shown in the figures herein, the anchoring regions may be positioned so that they are located on the collar collar near the middle part of the user's neck on opposite sides of the collar. This is provided that the anchoring regions are located below the user's ears, which provide an ideal anchoring point, provided that the mask element does not easily entangle in the stored position before moving to the deployed position. In a further form, the anchoring regions are located on the lower surface of the fold upward of the collar type, so that when in the unfolded position, the upward fold extends upward and the portions of the anchor are located just below the lobes of the ears of the users. This provided that the mask can be in a tight, tight fit around the underside of the collar collar in the stored position and does not require elongated extension portions of the anchor region to reach the nose and mouth of the user in the position unfolded
In one form, the anchoring region 22 and / or the left or right lateral extension regions 23 and / or 24,
they are composed of a material with elastic properties as long as the mask element 20 fits snugly over the nose and mouth of the individual in a well-adjusted arrangement.
The mask element 20 is, in the modes shown, sewn on a lower side surface of the upward fold 16. However, in some alternative arrangements, the mask element 20 can be removably attachable or connected with hook fasteners and buckle (not shown).
Advantageously, the mask element 20 is mounted adjacent to the fold perimeter upwards, so that when the mask is deployed, or in the deployed position, shown in Figure 2d, the collar is in the unfolded position extending upwardly from the shoulders of the user, and the mask element 20 extends horizontally, so that a base edge 31 is under the user's chin and chin, while an upper edge 32 is hoisted upwards so that when in the deployed position it is on the bridge of the user's nose to facilitate the seal around the edges of the mask element to ensure protection against particulate matter carried by the air.
In operation, the protective cover can extend from the stored position shown in Figure 2a to
the displayed position shown in Figure 2b. In Figure 2a the mask element 20 in the stored position is substantially hidden from view by the upward bend 16 of the collar. To begin to move the mask element towards the unfolded position (Figure 2b) the upward bend 16 is turned upwards showing the anchoring region 22 on the surface of the lower side 15 of the upward fold 16.
The method of deployment, or movement of the stored or stored position to the unfolded position is such that the collar is unfolded, and the filter region 26 of the mask element 20 extends over the wearer's head (see Figure 2c) and the base edge 32 of the mask element is brought down towards a lower side of the jaw of a user, while the upper edge 32 of the mask 20 is placed in a position which facilitates the good sealing by traveling along the bridge of the mask. The nose of the user and the cheekbones of the user to inhibit the annoyance of dust to the nose and mouth of users. The filter element 26 in the unfolded position is positioned where any air passing through the region of the mouth and / or the nose of the users passes through the filter element 26.
In the preferred embodiment shown, the mask is formed of a material which is fabric and machine washable. However it was contemplated that the mask can be
made of any suitable material. In a further embodiment, the mask element may further include an exhaust or exhaust valve.
Referring to Figures 3, 4, and 5 there is shown one more embodiment of the present invention, wherein a top body garment 50 includes a hollow portion 55 on the back or back region of the garment of the upper body 50 just adjacent to it. to a region of the neck 70 of the jacket 50. The hollow portion 55 provides a compartment where a mask element 60 can rest in a stored position substantially removed from view and in the present completely hidden view mode.
Referring to Figure 4 you can specifically see that the garment 50 from a front view with the mask element 60 in an unfolded position where the mask element 60 was removed from the recess 55 and extended to be placed over the nose and mouth of a user . The mask element extends from an anchoring region located within the hollow portion 55 via extension portions 63 which allowed the mask element 60 to be extended and placed on the wearer's head.
Referring to Figures 5a to 5c, there is shown the sequence by which the mask element 60 is removed from the hollow portion 55| (not shown in this
view) of an outside stored position and placed on the user's head, whereby the mask element 60 sits in place on the user's nose and mouth in the unfolded position as long as the mask reduces the amount of particles carried by the user. the air that is ingested by the user.
Finally, it should be understood that the mask, in alternative arrangement, can be stored in a bag or in a pocket inside or outside the shirt near the collar on the back of the shirt. This facilitates access to mask element 20 and inhibits clogging between the filter with dust and other particles and contamination with daily use when in the stored or stored position.
