Abstract

Se describen sistemas y métodos para perforar un pozo en un yacimiento submarino desde una estructura marina ubicada sobre una superficie acuática con una columna de perforación que está suspendida desde la estructura e incluye un montaje del fondo del agujero adaptado para formar una porción de agujero superior del pozo. Una fuente de fluido de perforación sobre la estructura marina suministra fluido de perforación a través de la columna de perforación hasta el montaje del fondo del agujero en donde el fluido de perforación sale del montaje del fondo del agujero durante la perforación y regresa ascendiendo por el pozo. Un módulo de bombeo se dispone en una línea de retorno, la cual está en comunicación fluida con el módulo de succión, una posición bajo la superficie del agua y por arriba del suelo marino. El módulo de bombeo es operable para recibir fluido de perforación del módulo de succión y bombear el fluido de perforación a través del tubo de retorno hasta la misma estructura marina o, una estructura marina diferente.
