Abstract

Un proceso de conversión de SO2 en sales de interés comercial comprende los pasos de: a) llevar a cabo una primera etapa de absorción que comprende poner en contacto una corriente gaseosa de ingreso (1) que comprende SO2 con una primera fase de absorción (2) que comprende sulfito y bisulfito de metal alcalino, alcalino terreo ó amonio a un pH de entre 8 y 4,5, b) sobresaturar la fase que comprende sulfito y bisulfito de metal alcalino, alcalino terreo ó de amonio y provocar la precipitación de los cristales de metabisulfito de metal alcalino ó alcalino terreo ó de amonio, c) llevar a cabo una segunda etapa de absorción que comprende poner en contacto la corriente gaseosa (1´) que egresa de la primera etapa de absorción (a), con una segunda fase de absorción (6) que comprende sulfito de metal alcalino ó alcalino terreo ó de amonio a un pH de entre 9 y 7, y d) sobresaturar la fase que comprende sulfito de metal alcalino ó alcalino terreo ó de amonio, y provocar la precipitación de cristales de sulfito de metal alcalino, alcalino terreo ó de amonio.
