Abstract
En un aspecto, la presente invención proporciona un método para corregir la visión, que comprende determinar una adaptación residual exhibida por un lente (34) cristalino, natural, de un ojo (32), y seleccionar un lente intraocular multifocal (IOL) (20, 36), que muestra una potencia óptica lejos del foco (por ejemplo, en un rango de aproximadamente -15 a aproximadamente + 50 Dioptrías (D)) y una potencia de adición (por ejemplo, en el rango de aproximadamente ID a aproximadamente 4 D), para la implantación en el ojo mientras que tiene los lentes naturales. La potencia de adición de IOL, s selecciona como una función de la adaptación residual tal que una combinación del IOL y los lentes naturales proporcione un contraste visual mayor que aproximadamente 10% a una frecuencia espacial de aproximadamente 20 ciclos/grado para ver los objetos a una distancia mayor que aproximadamente 30 cm desde el ojo.
