Abstract
Se describen un aparato y método para manejar unidades de división de repuesto den un dispositivo de cómputo dividible. El método comprende detectar si una unidad de división de repuesto se requiere para adición o reemplazo en un sistema operativo local y si una unidad de división de repuesto se requiere para adición, iniciar una adición de una unidad de división de reemplazo. Si una unidad de división de reemplazo se requiere para reemplazo, un reemplazo de una unidad de división defectuosa con una unidad de división de repuesto se inicia; parte de la memoria de la unidad de división defectuosa migra pasivamente a la memoria de la división de la unidad de división de repuesto; parte de la memoria de la unidad de división defectuosa también migra activamente a la memoria de la división de la unidad de división de repuesto; y el dispositivo de cómputo dividible se limpia. Las unidades de división se reemplazan sin requerir que se recopilen instrucciones ejecutables por computadora.
