Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la elaboración de insertos de carburo de silicio de celda abierta que permiten la infiltración de metales para crear partes compuestas de matriz de metal usados para componentes para fricción! desgaste, tales como un anillo de cerámica de celda abierta. El inserto de cerámica de celda abierta está infiltrado por hierro colado, y no produce efectos negativos en el proceso de colado de hierro o el producto final compuesto de matriz de metal tal como porosidad en el colado o acumulación de gas dentro del molde.
