Abstract

Se ha reportado que muchos filtros solares orgánicos pierden su eficacia al exponerse a rayos UV. Además, se sabe que algunos de los filtros solares orgánicos interactúan entre sí cuando se aplican sobre la piel con o sin exposición a radiación UV. De esta manera, dicha composición no es estable. No son muy efectivos para bloquear los rayos UV a unos minutos u horas después de que el producto ha sido aplicado a la piel. Además, cuando estas composiciones se usan y después se exponen a la luz solar o rayos UV, el período durante el cual la piel está en realizada protegida es muy corto, mientras que el consumidor está en la creencia de que la composición está protegiendo su piel. Esta falsa creencia puede conducir a que el consumidor se exponga a más luz solar, obteniendo así un mayor daño a la piel. Se proporciona una solución al problema anterior a través de una composición de filtro solar estable que comprende: (a) un complejo de un primer filtro solar orgánico con un primer ion metálico paramagnético; y (b) un segundo filtro solar orgánico.
