Abstract

The present invention relates to a system allowing early detection of illegal tree logging and providing notification to the authorities of same. The system includes a wireless network of electronic devices for detecting fallen trees, portable electronic devices for recording geographical coordinates, a communication station and a user interface. The wireless network includes a variable number of cells and each cell can contain a repeating electronic device and various electronic devices for detecting fallen trees. The number of cells in the wireless network and the number of electronic devices for detecting fallen trees per cell will depend on the size of the wooded area to be protected and the tree density in said area.
