Abstract

The invention provides a card based game of chance which includes a set of standard playing cards; an additional special card; and a random selection device to be operated when the special card is dealt to a player to determine a supplementary payout to that player. Betting participation in a card based game of chance is enhanced by adding the special card to a standard set of cards and permitting a player to whom the card is dealt to operate a random selection device to determine a supplementary payout. Apparatus to play the game has a set of standard playing cards; a special card to be added to the set; and a random selection device to be operated when the special card is dealt to a player to determine a supplementary payout to that player.; A table layout for the card based game of chance includes regions demarcated thereon for playing a basic game; and at least one extra participating betting region whereby at least one player may place a bet to participate in a supplementary game of chance associated with the random selection device.

Description

GAMBLING FIELD FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a game of chance, based on a card game, which is to be played in a gambling house such as a casino, which may be real or virtual. More particularly, it relates to an apparatus for playing a game of chance, to methods for increasing betting participation in games of chance, to games of chance and to a design for a table on which the game is played.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the invention, there is provided an apparatus for playing a game of chance that includes a set of standard game cards; a special letter that will be added to the set; and a random selection device that is put into operation when the special card is dealt to determine a complementary payment to at least one participating player. The apparatus may include a table on which the card game is played, with the random selection device associated with the table.

Additionally according to the invention, there is provided a method for increasing betting participation in a card-based gambling game that includes adding a special card to a set of standard game cards; and cause the operation of a random selection device when the special card is dealt to determine a complementary payment to at least one participating player. Still further according to the invention, a card-based gambling is provided that includes a set of standard game cards; an additional special letter; and a random selection device that is put into operation when the special card is dealt to determine a complementary payment to at least one participating player. Still further in accordance with the invention, a table design for the card-based gambling described above is provided which includes bounded areas thereon for playing a basic game; and at least one extra stake betting area so at least one player can make a bet to participate in a complementary game of chance associated with the random selection device. It will be appreciated that the basic card game being played is suspended when the special card is dealt and that it is resumed once the complementary payment has been determined and paid. The design of the table can have at least one extra participation zone for each player station. The set of cards can be a plurality of decks of playing cards. The basic game can be blackjack.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Those skilled in the art will appreciate that if a player wishes to participate in the complementary game of chance associated with the random selection device, which is triggered by the special card that is dealt, the latter makes a stake in the area. of extra participation bet. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Now, with reference to Figure 1, an apparatus for playing a game of chance according to the invention is indicated generally with the reference number 10. The apparatus 10 comprises a table 12 with seven stations for seven players 14, a wireless activator 16 and a random roulette device 18. Game 10 is played with a set of cards 19 comprising several decks of standard game cards with an additional special card 21. Table 12 is a standard blackjack table with extra bet zones marked on it, as explained below with reference to figure 2. The special card 21 is added to the set of cards 19 and shuffled therewith. Blackjack hands are played, in a normal way, with players who also make extra stake bets ("side bets") in the areas of extra bet, if you want to participate in the extra game offered by the invention. If the special card is not dealt in any hand, all these side bets are lost in favor of the house. 3. - Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the complementary payment is a fixed amount, a boat or a part of a boat.
4. Apparatus according to claim 1, including an activation unit for activating the random selection device.
5. - Apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the activation unit is portable.
6. - Apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the activation unit can operate wirelessly.
7. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the random selection device is a roulette device.
8. Apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the roulette device is physical or virtual.
9. - Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the random selection device can operate in a plurality of stages.
10. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the random selection device has two stages, the second stage being operable if a possibility indicated in the first stage is selected.
11. - Method to increase the participation of bet in a game of chance based on cards that includes adding a special card to a set of standard game cards; and cause the operation of a random selection device when the special card is dealt to determine a complementary payment to at least one participating player.
12. - Method according to claim 11, including distributing the cards.
13. - Method according to claim 12, which includes suspending the card game when the special card is dealt and resuming the card game once the complementary payment has been determined and paid.

19. - Card-based gambling according to claim 18, wherein the complementary payment is a fixed amount, a boat or a part of a boat.
20. - Table design for card-based gambling according to claim 19, which includes zones delimited thereon for playing a basic game; and at least one extra stake betting area so at least one player can make a bet to participate in a complementary game of chance associated with the random selection device.
21. - Table design according to claim 19, which has at least one extra participation zone for each player station.
22. Apparatus for playing a game of chance, basically as described in this document with reference to the attached drawings.
