Description
GAS BURNER, PARTICULARLY FOR HOME COOKED APPLIANCES
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a gas burner, in particular for home cooking appliances. There are several types of gas burners for cooking equipment, from those designed to be placed on the top of stove cookers and therefore of high performance and construction of expensive material, up to those designed for medium and medium stove cooking. low and therefore of a construction of cost as low as possible. However, even within this range of final product, there is a tendency to look for built products that always ensure good performance such as very low CO values, a very high thermal efficiency, ease of use and ease of cleaning and that at the same time time seek to maintain a very low cost, compatible with the finished products of very low cost such as those found in the South American market. Within this range of products, commercially available cookers have a gas system based on a cross-arm concept.
- -
This gas system is formed of several components: a tube usually in the form of L or U as the gas ramp, which transports the gas inside the cooker and is provided in its front with holes to which valves are fixed control, tubes that transport the gas from the valves to the injectors; two steel strips bent properly, known as transverse arms, which are welded transversely to the gas ramp, hence from here they are placed parallel to the front of the cooker. These transverse arms are provided with holes, wherein each of which has an injector and a relative gas inlet tube is placed. The gas system therefore consists of a sub-assembly consisting of the ramp with relative transverse arms welded together, control valves mounted on the ramp and gas tubes which connect the valves to the injectors, these are fixed to the transverse arms either way. This sub-assembly is fixed to the structure of the cooker by screws, the outer ends of the arms transverse to the metallic parts of the side sheet of the cooker.
- -
The upper part of the metal sheet cooker is then fixed to the structure. The top of the cooker has holes that correspond to the injectors to allow the passage of a venturi tube attached to the base of the burner. The burner also comprises the venturi systems and the base, usually in the form of two pieces of a metal sheet joined together, and a flame splitter, also of metal foil of a pressed aluminum. This system has certain drawbacks, and in particular: alignment between the injector and the venturi system is not ensured, particularly if, it is welded to the transverse arm, there is an additional joining piece that presents in the upper part an orifice that allows the tube Venturi is centered on the injector; this often generates off-center gas distribution so that the flares can be seen as non-uniform, problems of gas leakage and alignment problems with the top of the burner, and in some cases the injector is fixed directly on the cross arm, in other cases, a die-cast aluminum support is used, which also acts as the venturi system on which the base is fixed and around
- of which the base is centered; this ensures a better alignment, however the constituent parts of the burner are large and the costs are higher. Another drawback consists in the fact that, if present, the spark plug is usually fixed to the top of the cooker and is therefore not centered around the burner. An objective of the invention is to generate a sub-assembly of gas that consists of only some parts and therefore of low production cost, but at the same time ensure a good operation and that is of practical use, such as ease of cleaning and treatment of moving parts. These objects and others which will be apparent from the description that follows, are obtained according to the invention by a gas burner for the apparatuses, as described in claim 1. A preferred embodiment of the present invention is described in detail in the following with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a longitudinal section through the burner, Figure 2 is a perspective view of a flame splitter, Figure 3 is a perspective view of the
clamp, figure 4 is a plan view of the upper part of the cooker from the top, and figure 5 shows a variant of the clamp. As can be seen from the figures, the burner is constituted substantially of an injector support 1, an injector 2, a clamp 3, a flame splitter 4 and an enamelled cover 5. An aluminum tube 6 on which the compression injector holder 1 is fixed and which is connected to the control valve, is not shown in the drawings, and is screwed to the injector 2. The clamp 3 is U-shaped. and presents in its lower part a horizontal surface 7 comprising an orifice in which the injector holder 1 is immobilized by means of a spring 8. The surface 7 extends inside two vertical walls 9 and presents upwards two ridges containing two opposite holes 11 through which the screws 12 for fixing the clamp 3 to the upper metal sheet of the upper part 14 of the cooker are screwed. One of the two flat flanges 10 of the clamp 3 have an extension 15 in which
- they provide two housings to possibly house the spark plug 16 and the thermocouple 18. On one side of the bracket 3 there is a groove 19, which passes through a flange 10 and a vertical wall 9. The upper part 14 of the cooker has a raised collar 20 facing upwards, external to the upper part
14 of cooker that in that place is provided with a flame splitter 4 on which the lid 5 enameled closure rests. The flame splitter 4 centrally presents a truncated cone-shaped vertical duct 21 which forms the first portion of the venturi system and communicates upwards with a portion 22 shaped to form, together with the interior surface 23 of the cover 5 , a horizontal pipe 24 extending radially that produces a venturi effect. the flame splitter 4 externally has an edge 25 along which a series of ports 26 are present for the output of the air-gas mixture to form a flame ring. In its lower portion external to the duct 21, the flame splitter 4 has a centering flap 27, two walls 28 and 29 and support surfaces 30 and 31. When the flame splitter 4 is placed on the
clamp 3, the centering rib 27 rests on the housing 19 so that the two walls 28 and 29 are interposed centrally between the walls 9 of the clamp 3 and the surfaces 30 and 31 which rest on the clamp flanges 10. Therefore, all of the constituent parts of the burner essential for proper operation are all centered on a single component, the clamp 3, which is constructed in one piece to ensure that the system is coaxial. In this way, the truncated cone-shaped duct 21 of the flame splitter 4 forming the first portion of the venturi system, is perfectly aligned with the injector 2 by virtue of the vane 27 and the walls 28 and 29. This allows the Perfect gas distribution is obtained along the holes 26, with a uniform and uniform flame ring resulting. The venturi type burner is formed, in combination with the inner surface 23 of the cover 5, directly on the flame splitter 4 with a vertical portion 21 and a radial portion 22. This eliminates the need to apply vertical venturi systems, and therefore reduces costs. The radial venturi system also allows the height of clamp 3 to be reduced, with obvious savings
both in construction and in costs. In addition, the flame splitter 4 rests on the clamp 3 and not on the upper part 14 of the cooker; this means that less heat is transmitted to the top of the cooker and therefore results in that if this stainless steel sheet is under construction, there is less yellowing of the metal sheet. The system is also very easy to clean: in this regard, if liquid is splashed from the tray, a lip 20 is provided on top of the cooker 14 which prevents the penetration of water into the interior of the cooker. The edge 20 also prevents the penetration of dust into the interior when the upper part of the cooker is cleaned. There are only two moving parts: the divider
4 flame and 5 glazed lid, both easily cleanable either by hand or in lavatrastes. After cleaning, the placement of the divider
4 of flame in its housing in the clamp 3 is particularly easy and error-free because the rib 27 and the particular shape of the hole in the metal sheet of the upper part 14 of the cooker. With the embodiment shown in the drawings, primary air 32 is required for mixing with gas originating from inside the cooker.
In a variant, primary air is taken from the exterior of the cooker (primary air 33). To obtain this, the clamp 3 simply must be fabricated from a cylindrical tube portion, forming the walls 28 and 29 and the surfaces 30 and 31 in a suitable manner to generate air passages, then raising the flame splitter 4 a few additional millimeters from the top 4 of the cooker. In a further variant, instead of forming a single clamp for each burner, the two traditional transverse arms are shaped to form two clamps in each of them (see Figure 5). In this way, even if the cross arms are screwed to the side structure of the cooker, the burners are centered around the cross arm to always provide injector-venturi alignment. Special burners can also be used, such as a fish-type burner and double or triple ring burners in medium and low cost cookers, and consequently the construction concept described in the present patent is also valid for special burners.
