Abstract

The present invention refers to a power socket useful in domestic and the like type electric installations at a low voltage, which includes a safety shutter device designed in such a manner that only the inner area of the socket may be accessed, said area including contacts in which the prongs of plugs are fitted when the same are suitably and simultaneously introduced therein.

Description

PLUG BASE WITH SECURITY SHUTTER DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY The present invention relates to a plug-in base, applicable to low-voltage electrical installations, of domestic type and the like, provided with a safety shut-off device, designed so that only the interior area can be accessed, where they are located the contacts in which the pegs of the pegs will fit, when the two pegs are introduced in unison. The essential characteristics of this plug socket are described below. The possibility of accidental access to the inside of the body of a plug socket, with a metal object, such as a punch, a fork or any other similar object within the reach of children, for example, is a risk factor against the concrete fact that there is a regrettable and serious domestic accident by electrical contact. That is why, in compliance with the basic standards in terms of safety in low voltage electrical installations, it is necessary that the aforementioned sockets are equipped with a safety device that prevents access to the aforementioned elements, which can to be introduced unconsciously to the inside of the base, thus preventing them from touching internal contacts. This security device, however, will be designed to allow the correct access and without difficulty of the pins of the plug, which must be placed on the plug base, in order to carry out the subsequent connection. The plug base object of the present invention covers the required safety and connection requirements, offering the installer an element of total guarantee in its operation, to be placed in domestic installations and the like, as previously described. The sealing device is designed to be installed inside the base, below its upper plate, plate provided with the appropriate openings for use in the plugging of standardized pins, known as the "Argentine" type provided with two rectangular pins , inclined angularly with respect to an axis of central symmetry and a third rectangular pin, grounding, arranged on the axis of symmetry itself. In this base model for pin known as "Argentine type", the shutter device protects the incorrect or accidental access to the interior by any of the rectangular openings intended for the introduction of the corresponding pin dowels. With regard to the third opening, intended for the passage of the pin that corresponds to the grounding of the electrical device, the shutter mechanism does not regulate the access by the same, since the ground contact located inside the base of the The plug is not connected to any electrical conductor, thus representing no danger.
In order to describe in detail the essential characteristics of the plug base provided with safety shutter, object of the present invention, some drawings are attached in which, by way of non-limiting example, a practical embodiment of the aforementioned base. In said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the base, showing the totality of its components drawn in explosion, and the location of each of them, with respect to the rest; Figure 2 is a perspective view, and also with the exploded elements of the three components that make up the security shutter device, but seen below, that is, by its bottom face; Figure 3 is a view, on the underside, of the obturator placed in its shutter, and in the closed position of the openings of the base; Figure 4 is a view complementary to the previous figure, of the obturator in the displaced position, allowing access through the openings of the base; Figure 5 is a view of the assembly, sectioned according to an imaginary vertical plane, perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of the assembly, and located in the middle area of the obturator. In this figure is represented an element, pin type, located to the outside and initiating its entry through an opening in the base; Figure 6 is a section of the assembly, equivalent to that of the previous figure, showing the sequence of the introduction of an element through the opening of the base and reaching to touch the shutter; Figure 6bis is a detail, in larger size, of the contact zone between the element that is introduced and the obturator, according to Figure 6; Figure 7 is a section of the same assembly, equivalent to that of figures 5 and 6 but showing the element that has been introduced through the opening of the base resting on the shutter and moving it in swing, without having access to the interior; Figure 7bis is a detail, in larger size, of the contact zone between the introduced element and the displaced obturator, according to Figure 7; Figure 8 is a view similar to that of the sectioned assembly, of Figures 6 and 7, but with the element introduced through the other opening of the base; Figure 8bis is an enlarged detail of the contact zone between the element introduced through the other slot and that has displaced the shutter, according to Figure 8; Figure 9 is a view of the assembly, sectioned according to a vertical plane, perpendicular to the section plane of figures 5 to 8, and arranged in the middle area of the opening located in the closest half of said assembly. This figure shows a connection pin and the grounding pin, all in accordance with the dihedral projection of the section made. Both spikes are located above the base and in the corresponding place to be introduced through the corresponding openings; Figure 10 is a view equivalent to that of the previous figure, of the sectioned assembly, but with the pins beginning to enter their corresponding openings, the connecting pin touching the upper face of the shutter; and Finally, Figure 11 is a view similar to the two previous figures, and in which the contact pin has displaced the obturator and has been engaged in the contact of the base. According to the drawings that have been related and with the initial description, the plug socket with safety shutter object of the present invention is constituted by a base body (1) on which a cover plate (2) will fit, both being perfectly subject by the joint action of closing lugs (3) of said cover plate (2), which are fixed by clipping in the corresponding lateral hollows (4) that the base body (1) possesses. The cover plate (2), quadrangular in shape, has three rectangular openings (5), arranged in the standardized manner for the sockets and sockets of the so-called "Argentinean" type. Two of these openings (5), are located at an angle, incidents towards the extreme edge of the cover plate (2), and arranged symmetrically with respect to the imaginary vertical plane of symmetry, of reference AA (See Figure 1). Through these grooves (5) will be introduced the corresponding pins of rectangular section (6) that will establish the electrical contact.
The third rectangular opening (7) is positioned symmetrically on the aforementioned vertical plane of symmetry AA, and towards the opposite half of the angled openings (5) of the cover plate (2), this opening being where the pin (8) grounding. On its lower face, the cover plate (2) has a hollow projection (9) of rectangular prismatic shape, coinciding with the earthing opening (7), as well as several flanges (10), located on two of its sides (11), which allow the fixing and fastening by clipping of a shutter plate (12). This cover plate (12) is rectangular in outline and coincides with the inside perimeter of the cover plate (2), its shape being such that it allows, thanks to its two lateral flanges (13), to be fixed by clipping inside the cover plate (2), by means of the flanges (10), being immobilized in its position when abutting an incoming area (14) of its side wall against a hollow projection (9) provided in the cover plate (2). The shutter plate (12) also has two rectangular openings (15), coinciding in dimensions and position with the openings (5) of the cover plate (2) to allow, in their coincidence, the passage of the electrical contact pins (6). On its inner side, the shutter plate (12) has, on the side wall opposite the recess (14), flanges (16) that form the housing of the end of a cylindrical spring (17) of a shutter (18) . This shutter (18) is rectangular in shape, its length coinciding with the interior width of the plate shutter (12), so that, placed inside, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, is guided by its sides, being able to move across the width of said shutter plate (12). The shutter (18) has two symmetrical rectangular areas (19), with an inclined surface, in the form of a ramp, as well as a central area recessed (19a) as a housing, where the cylindrical spring (17) will be located, which, due to its expansive action, it will maintain at all times the shutter (18) located in the area of the shutter (12) where the two openings (15) are located, so that it closes the possible access through said openings (15) towards the inside the base body (1) of the device. When the lid plate (2) and the shutter plate (12) are joined and fixed and clipped, the shutter (18) is disposed inside, and can be moved from the position in which access is obstructed through the doors. openings (5) and (15), according to figure 3, up to the position in which it leaves said access free, according to figure 4. This displacement will occur only when the two electrical contact pins (6) are introduced, in unison. through the openings (5) of the cover plate (2), which pins will impinge on the ramp inclined surface of the two areas (19) of the obturator (18), causing, by pressure, the movement of the obturator, overcoming the action of the cylindrical spring (17) that kept it in its initial sealing position. This action is clearly represented in figures 9 to 11.
In its lower face, the obturator (18) has two projections (20), with an inclined top surface in the shape of a wedge, located symmetrically in coincidence with the aforesaid rectangular openings (15). With the aforementioned obturator in its permanent initial sealing position, according to figure 3, and keeping it there by the action of the cylindrical spring (17), the access to the interior of the base body (1) remains closed. If, in an accidental manner, an element (21) is introduced through one of the rectangular openings (5) of the cover plate (2), an action represented in sequence in figures 5 to 8, this element (21) will affect the one of the inclined surface areas (19) of the shutter (18), without being able to displace it, but only, due to the unilateral pressure exerted, will cause its displacement in the swinging direction, causing the corresponding projection (20) to be fitted on the opening (15) of the shutter plate (12), also preventing passage into the base body (1). Inside the mentioned base body (1) there are located prismatic hollow projections (22) where the appropriate electrical contacts (23) will be properly housed, as well as a third projection (24), similar to the previous ones, where the contact is lodged ground connection (25), also identical to the two previous contacts (2. 3) . These contacts, electrical (23) and ground (25), are of the type of elastic clamp, which is fixed in the upper part of the clamping body (26), housed in turn in a corresponding projection (27) located in the lower face of the base body (1), in which, laterally, and through the holes (28), the cables that are to be screwed are introduced, an operation that is executed by means of the action of clamping screws (29). Suitably described the plug base with safety shutter object of the present invention, it should be noted that any variation in the dimensions, shapes, appearance and exterior finish of the different components of the device, as well as type of materials used, nothing will alter the essentiality of the same, being summarized in the claims that follow.

CLAIMS 1. - Plug socket with safety shutter, constituted by a base body (1) and a cover plate (2), provided in this cover plate (2) with the appropriate openings for the plugging of standardized plugs of the so-called type "Argentinean", provided with two rectangular pins (6), inclined angularly with respect to a central axis of symmetry, and a third rectangular pin (8) of grounding, arranged on the axis of symmetry, characterized by having a device shutter that prevents accidental access of any object by any of the rectangular openings (5) of the cover plate (2), for passage of the rectangular pins (6) for electrical connection, device that is located under the cover plate (2) ) and inside the shutter plate (12), so that a shutter element (18) can be moved, as required, to allow access to the interior of the base body (1), or to prevent, by ration, said access, leaving the entire device, obturator (18) and shutter plate (12), positioned between the cover plate (2) and the upper part of the base body (1), which are joined by means of pressure fixing thanks to suitable elements, closing lugs (3) of the cover plate (3) and lateral hollows (4) that has a base body (1).

Plug socket with safety shutter, according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the shutter (18) is rectangular in shape and suitable dimensions to allow its placement inside the shutter (12) and to be able to slide, guided by its sides , across the same, said shutter (18) being provided with two symmetrical rectangular areas (19), inclined in ramp, and a recessed central area (19 a), for receiving a cylindrical spring (17), which, by its expansive action, keep the shutter (18) on the area where the two openings (15) of the shutter plate (12) are made, preventing access to the interior of the base body (1) by said openings (15), access also hindered by the own shutter (18) through the openings (5) of the cover plate (2), coinciding in position with the openings (15) of the shutter plate (12).

Plug socket with safety shutter, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the displacement of the shutter (18) to free the shutter plate (12), will be made only by the action to the unison of the two rectangular pins (6), introduced through the openings (5) and impinge on the ramps (19) of the shutter (18), causing its displacement by pressing, overcoming the retaining action of the cylindrical spring (17) that kept it in the initial position of sealing, displacement to be made in the opposite direction, when the pins (6) are removed from the base, always by the action of said cylindrical spring (17).
  4. 4. - Plug socket with safety shutter, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the pressure action on the shutter (18) exerted by a single object (21), action that will be performed through a single opening (5) and only on one of the ramp inclined surfaces (19) of the obturator (18), will cause only a displacement of said obturator (18) in the direction of swinging, causing the corresponding projection (20) of said shutter (18) to be fitted over the opening (15) of the shutter plate (12), the passages remaining closed through the other openings, the opening (5) of the cover plate (2) and the opening (15) of the shutter plate (12).

Plug socket with safety shutter, according to claim 4, whose base body (1) has inside hollow prismatic projections (22) for the correct placement of electrical contacts (23), as well as other projections ( 24) for ground contact (25), contacts on which the corresponding rectangular pins of the openings (5) and (7) of the cover plate (2) of the assembly will be interlocked, characterized in that the sealing element (18) exerts its action of closing the passage through the the openings (5) and (15), which give access to the electrical contacts (23) while not closing the passage through the opening (7), for access to the grounding contact (25), to the offer this danger some because of its neutral character.
