Abstract
The invention comprises a system for the recovery of heat inside flues for usein flue steam boilers and liquid heaters. The heat recovery system consistsof a tube in which a gas diffuser is placed. The gas diffuser may have a cylindrical,pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal or square cross-section. Most importantly,the cavity formed between the flue and the gas diffuser must be very narrow, atleast 1 mm, and the flue gases must flow at high speed, at least 6 m/s, through thenarrow cavity, as this is the only way to ensure that a large amount of heat is transferredto the flue. The invention can be used to construct highly-heat-efficient,low-cost heaters and boilers which require a mechanical blower.
