Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para producir metal espumado o celular en donde las burbujas gaseosas son retenidas dentro de la masa de metal fundido durante la formación de espuma, que comprende los pasos de: calentar un compuesto de una matriz de metal y partículas estabilizadoras sólidas finamente divididas por encima de la temperatura de licuefacción de la matriz de metal, formar burbujas dentro del compuesto fundido para de esta manera formar una fusión celular o espumada sobre la superficie del compuesto de metal fundido, y enfriar la fusión celular debajo de la temperatura de solidificación de la fusión para formar un metal celular sólido que tiene una pluralidad de celdas cerradas.
