Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para recuperar metales primarios a partir de un polvo de proceso pirometalúrgico, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: mezclar el polvo con material carbonoso sólido y un aglutinante, y formar pellas de los materiales mezclados; secar las pellas para formar pellas esféricas verdes, cargar una retorta con tiro vertical, con las pellas esféricas verdes, haciéndolas mover continuamente hacia abajo a través de la retorta, teniendo la retorta una zona de precalentamiento y coquificación y una zona de transición intermedia, así como una zona inferior de reducción y vaporización; proveer calor al interior de la retorta, calentando su exterior; prerreducir las pellas esféricas verdes en la zona de precalentamiento y coquificación; reducir las pellas y vaporizar los materiales volátiles presentes en ellas, en la zona inferior de reducción y vaporización; sacar los gases liberados, los materiales volátiles y los metales vaporizados, del interior de la retorta, en la zona de transición entre las zonas superior e inferior; y descargar las pellas reducidas desde el fondo de la retorta.
