Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una composición absorbente, caracterizada porque consiste esencialmente de óxido de zinc, sílice, y si se desea, cuando menos un óxido metálico promotor. Un procedimiento para eliminar el sulfuro de hidrógeno de una corriente de fluído que contiene sulfuro de hidrógeno, el procedimiento está caracterizado porque comprende poner en contacto la corriente de fluído bajo condiciones de absorción adecuadas con una composición absorbente de acuerdo con las condiciones absorbentes adecuadas comprenden usualmente una temperatura en la gama de aproximadamente 150 grados C a aproximadamente 600 grados C, una presión total del sistema en la gama de aproximadamente la presión atmosferica a aproximadamente 140.61 kg/cm cuadrado y un tiempo de residencia para la corriente de fluído en presencia de la composición absorbente, en la gama de aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 10,000 volumenes de gas a temperatura y presión estandar por volumen de la composición absorbente por hora.
