Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a método para producir una tira de acero inoxidable substancialmente austenítica a partir de una plancha fundida y laminada en caliente, que comprende: fundir continuamente una plancha del acero que tiene una composición que consiste esencialmente de: en peso de aproximadamente 15 por ciento o más de cromo, alrededor de 5 por ciento o más de níquel, hasta 5 por ciento de molibdeno, hasta 0.002 por ciento máximo de azufre, el resto siendo hierro y adiciones y productos residuales normales en la elaboración de acero; y laminar en caliente la plancha hasta un calibre de banda laminada en caliente; la banda laminada en caliente, qur cuando se desescama, tiene buena calidad superficial, caracterizada por películas metalúrgicas reducidas.
