Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a formulación reactiva para una reacción de polimerización en masa, que proporciona cuando menos 92 por ciento de grado de conversión de monómero a polímero en un proceso de moldeo por inyección con reacción, según se determina por análisis termogravimetrico en un termo analizador DuPont 1090, en donde todos los materiales quese volatilizan antes de alcanzar 400 grados C, se consideran monómero no-reaccionado y caracterizado proque comprende: a) al menos un monómero de cicloolefina que tiene un grupo funcional norborneno; b) un sistema catalizador de metátesis, en una cantidad capaz de polimerizar en masa dicho monómero de diclo olefina por polimerización con la apertura de anillo, y c) un agente de soplado encapsulado en donde el agente de soplado tiene un punto de ebullición por debajo de la temperatura de punto de ablandamiento del encapsulante y el encapsulante es un termoplástico resinoso sintético que: i) no activa el sistema catalizador de metátesis, ii) substancialmente es impermeable al agente de soplado, y iii) tiene un punto de ablandamiento a una temperatura por debajo de 180 grados C.
