Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para elaborar patrones de espuma de poliestireno expandidos, dimensionalmente estables, que comprende: a) expander un suministro de cuentas comprendidas de una base de poliestireno y un agente de expansión térmicamente sensible, la expansión siendo lograda en una o más etapas mediante el uso de un agente de calentamiento gaseoso, para definir un cuerpo de patrón fundido de las cuentas expandidas; Y b) someter el cuerpo de patrón fundido a presión subatmosferica en la escala de 12.7-50.8 cms. de mercurio durante un periodo de cuando menos 0.5 horas, pero no más que el suficiente para acelerar y completar la migración del agente de expansión atrapado y el agente de calentamiento fuera del cuerpo.
