Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para transmitir un paquete de información, que contiene un préambulo y datos, en una red de área local que tiene una repetidora de puertos múltiples que emplea puertos para acoplar una pluralidad de cables coaxiales de alambre delgado y un cable receptor Ethernet caracterizado porque comprend elos pasos de: a) detectar la presencia del paquete de información en cualquiera de los puertos, almacenar los datos en un acumulador-compensador y enviar el preámbulo a todos los demás puertos; b) detectar el fin del preámbulo en el puerto en el cual se recibe primero c) replicar los datos en los demás puertos dando salida a los datos almacenados en el regulador, supervisar continuamente cualquier colisión en los demás puertos y volver a enviar los datos si se supervisan colisiones.
