Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una junta de cabeza de cilindro para motores de combustión interna, que tiene una cabeza, un bloque, cuando menos una cámara de combustion, y por lo menos un pasaje para comunicación de fluido entre la cabeza y el bloque; comprendiendo la junta de cabeza de cilindro un cuerpo de junta principal, delgado, moldeado integramente, que tiene superficies principales expansivas y que definen una pluralidad de aberturas, incluyendo cuando menos una abertura de combustión y por lo menos una abertura para comunicación de fluido entre la cabeza y el bloque; estando moldeado el cuerpo de junta de un compuesto de resina termoplástica reforzada, teniendo la resina termoplástica, en un estado no llenado, una temperatura de distorsión térmica elevada de cuando menos 167.25 grados C. a 18.77 kg/cm cuadrados (conforme a la prueba ASTM D648), y siendo esencialmente inerte al agua, y a los combustibles automotrices, refrigerantes y aceites, siendo la resina substancialmente amorfa y teniendo una base aromática, con un módulo de flexión de cuando menos alrededor de 17592 kg/cm cuadrados y un alargamiento relativamente alto para promover el sellado, siendo la resina llenada y reforzada con fibras en una cantidad de cuando menos 3 por ciento en peso de la resina no llenada, teniendo las fibras una rígidez y fuerza mayores que la resina sin llenar y siendo deformable en tensión, compresión y doblado bajo carga transversal sin fracturarse, teniendo las fibras un módulo de tensión de no menos de 707300 kg/cm cuadrados a 256.3 grados C., sirviendo las fibras para distribuir cargas a las que la junta está sujeta en uso entre la resina, teniendo las fibras buenas una unión con la resina y teniendo un módulo y fuerza más elevados que la resina no llenada para sostener una mayor porción de carga, y proporcionar de éste modo alta retención de tensión de sellado e impedir la pérdida de par de torsión en uso, reduciendo el relajamiento de tensión de la resina no reforzada, estando las fibras en orientación al azar y siendo cortas en logitud y teniendo una relación de aspecto de cuando menos 20; teniendo el cuerpo de junta principal así moldeado un talón sellador no elestomérico, formado integralmente, que se extiende por encima de el cuerpo principal de junta y que rodea cuando menos una de las pluralidades de aberturas.
