Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para mejorar la retención y drenado en un procedimiento para la elaboración de papel del tipo en donde se forma y se seca una pulpa acuosa que contiene una materia prima de papel, caracterizado porque comprende agregar a la pulpa un microgel de polisilicato soluble en agua, formado mediante la gelificación parcial de un silicato de metal alcalino, en combinación con por lo menos aproximadamente 0.001 por ciento en peso con base en el peso en seco de la materia prima de papel de un polímero catiónico soluble en agua.
