Abstract

The light line of the Moldavian hen subbreed [Avis] „Gât golaş” oriented for meat and egg production, created by the methods of local besarabic neck-naked hen selection, with further interbreeding of desirable poultry type with the New-Hampshire breed and further breeding “ in self” of the obtained genotype, is intended for industrial use and personal poultry pharming both in purity and crosses, has a small head with leave-shaped comb, prominent chest, wide and deep body, straight back, red plumage thin on the chest and the belly, long neck without plumage till the crop, light-yellow beak and metatarsuses, caracterized in the high egg productivity, small body weight, increased egg productivity, strong constitution, high reproduction and viability qualities.The hen manifests a high combination capability at the industrial breed crossing with other breeds, hen lines with the view of obtaining half-breed poultry.
