Abstract

The invention relates to electrochemistry, in particular to a process for preparing an aqueous gluconate electrolyte for deposition of nanocrystalline Co-W coatings with reinforcing, wear-resistant, magnetic and catalytic properties. The process for preparing an aqueous gluconate electrolyte for deposition of nanocrystalline Co-W coatings comprises dissolution in water to give concentrations of sodium chloride of 0.51 mole/l and sodium gluconate of 0.55 mole/l, dissolution in the resulting solution of boric acid of 0.65 mole/l and of sodium wolframate of 0.05 mole/l, then addition to the resulting solution of cobalt sulphate of 0.053 mole/l and bringing the solution pH to 4…8 by adding sodium hydroxide or sulfuric acid, afterwards the resulting solution is subjected to stagnation for at least 3 days.
