Abstract

The invention relates to chemistry, in particular to a process for water purification from nitrates and nitrites.The process, according to the invention, comprises water filtration through a column containing a layer of granular metallic cadmium, a layer of strongly basic anionite, containing functional groups R4N+, modified with compounds of Cr(III) by treating 5 g of anionite with 500 mL of chromium sulfate (III) or chrome alums, containing 2 g Cr/L, with the pH 4.1 at the temperature of 60°C for 8 hours, and a layer of carboxylic cationite in K- or Na- form, at the same time the water is filtered at a flow rate of 1.0…1.8 ml/min, and the components in the column are taken in the ratio of 2.0:2.5:2.0.The result consists in simplifying and increasing the efficiency of the water purification process.
